Catchi

I received this fluffy kitten as my birthday gift from my sister on 19 April 2016. The age of my cat was 6 months at that time. How I met my cat is a very interesting story. One day when I come back from university my sister told me there is someone in the drawing-room waiting for me and said OK let me get fresh and then I will meet that guest. After getting fresh, I went to the drawing-room and there was no guest I look at my sister and she start laughing and asked me to look under the sofa. I was like where? Guest is hiding under the sofa? And when I look under a sofa, I found a fluffy smoky greyish color cat hiding and said “Meeehioooow”. Since childhood, I kept cats as my pet but all those pets were stray cats who were not allowed to enter the house as they were not vaccinated and had no liter training this cat was wow, I found her so decent. She is such a beautiful punch face Persian cat with big green eyes, big mustaches, triple coat silky smooth grey and white hairs big tail and I named her “catchy” she is proper poppy trained and she was vaccinated when I get her and now at the age of 6 years her record is up to date.    If we take a look at the chart of cat and human age my cat is approximately 40 years old in human years.  And the difference is pretty clear when catchi was a kitten and junior she was so active and spend most of her time playing with toys and with the passage of time she is getting soberer and spending more of her time doing rest.  From little kitten till now catchi loved playing with me, we do Wrestling like we both are in the ring of  WWF and she properly responds back without hurting me. To get her in a ninja mood so that she can show some super-fast actions I use a peacock feather. By just looking at the feather of peacock catchi’s eyes gets wide open and she acts like “Play Time” she run after the feather and try to catch it as it tickles her. Another then peacock feather anything tied with rope and dragged on the floor is catchi’s prey and she runs after it.  Catchi has a single floor stretching pad where she goes to stretch her body and sharpen her claws as it is a stress realising process for cats. So catchi releases too much of her stress and sharps her claws on every sofa every leather item every luggage bag every carpet and every rug, she is so naughty.  Catchi only eats her dry cat food and drinks plenty of water and does not eat any other food items like biscuits, raw or cooked meat, fish, chicken, and egg and if by any chance she eats some part of other food she throws it out of her stomach with vomiting.  As I live in a Lahore city where the temperature goes up to 48 degrees Celsius, she likes to sit under an air conditioner but still due to sweating she gets a bath frequently.   Catchi is my personal alarm clock she knows when I had to get up for the office and exact on time, she come near to me and start rubbing her paws on my face and keep doing until I got up. But the problem is that catchi just knows the exact time to wake me up so she keeps doing this on weekends as well. When I’m at the office she mostly spends her time taking naps and self-grooming with her tongue. And come to the door minutes before and keep waiting until I enter the home and welcome me with a long meow.  Cachi’s loves to be tickled and the most ticklish part of her body is her tummy. She loves it with I rub her tummy and while getting rubbed she stretched her body as a gesture of loving it. She likes to get tapped on the backbone, especially near the tail, and likes her tail to be pressed gently up to its tip. And when I rub her jawline my cats say “that more like it dad more please” and start making a purring sound. The purring sound is actually a low-frequency noise that is good for the health of the human beings.  Catchi is now 6 years old. And she is never mated till now which is one of the reasons behind her good health. But now I’m planning to do her matting with a white Persian male cat so they can have even more beautiful kittens.

Chelsea’s Dog Story

I have worked with amazing companies such as Nooks Design and Canadian Frost, specializing in product photography as well as context blogging with many social media influencers throughout Canada. My product photography has been internally published and I excel in creating content for your product with certain clientele and specifications. With over a decade of experience in the photography industry, I’m professional and can offer a fast turnaround. Growing up, I had a lovely Cocker Spaniel named Goldie. He was a beautiful blonde boy, and we spent our days playing outside, camping and cuddling at night. Growing up, he was my best friend, but I honestly didn’t understand how much work my parents put into taking care of him. He slipped away peacefully one evening when he was fifteen, taking a piece of my heart with him. Fast forward twenty years, and I’m now a single parent in my late thirties. Having four kids is never quiet, but it has kept me busy over the last decade. When my youngest started school, I felt alone for the first time. My days were quiet and filled with mundane chores until the kids came home from classes. They had been asking for a puppy for a while, but it never seemed good timing. Finally, I conceded, and we started our search.  We found a beautiful little Pomsky in Northern British Columbia and decided he was the one. He had a long journey to the province’s interior and set off on his first trip. When we picked him up at the airport, it was love at first sight, and he snuggled right into my arms. After a few days, his true personality emerged, and he was a fireball of energy! My days were no longer relaxed and quiet, and I found myself picking up fluff from stuffies he destroyed, hiding the parts of the couch he chewed, and running after him when he’d jump over the fence and chase the neighbors’ cats! I’m not going to lie, there were times when I thought I was crazy for having such a high-energy pup, but once he passed that puppy stage, we started going on adventures. That’s when everything changed. We’d drop the kids off at school, and I’d drive. We live in such a beautiful province, and I had six hours during the day for us to explore. We found hidden beaches where Max loved to swim, trails that led us through the forest, and his favorite, the dog park. I was surprised at how quickly I made friends there. We started meeting every morning, and it was something Max looked forward to. I woke up earlier every day to try to get in an early morning run, and Max was always eager to come along. He’d run off with his puppy friends as soon as we got there, and it was like I was myself again. After going through a complicated divorce and figuring out how to live by myself with four kids, I didn’t realize how much of myself I had lost. Day by day, I laughed more, enjoyed myself, and became very content. We also discovered paddleboarding! Max is five years old now, and he is my life companion. He sits in the passenger seat of my van and loves when the windows are down, and he can get some fresh air. We snowshoe and sled in the winter, but summer is our favorite. There is one particular beach in West Kelowna where I could spend all my time. It’s a long stretch of sand and spectacular Okanagan Views. Max takes off immediately when we get there, and I can’t help but laugh at how fast he jumps into the lake. He loves chasing ducks, although he never comes close to catching one. He seems to think that they’re there just for his amusement. My parents have an older husky named Luna, and we often go and pick her up so that she can come along with us. She’s over one hundred pounds, and I’ve noticed people are intimidated by her. She is a gentle giant, though, and has this grace. She has this gentleness to her that has helped Max. As my parents get older, I think Luna will eventually end up with me. I always feel safe in her presence. She has that husky instinct, though. Recently I took her camping with us And she decided she needed to take a four-hour run deep into the forest. When she finally returned, she had a large deer antler and looked proud of herself. My annoyance slowly faded as I realized that she lived for these things. She has a free soul and has always liked to wander off since she was younger. I don’t let Max off leash as much since he’s still more youthful and on the smaller side, but I know he yearns to go with her. The two of them have become best friends, with Luna leading the way.  I think all dog owners understand the deep bond we share with them. I live for our adventures now. Some days, I feel I must be crazy with all pets, especially cleaning up after Max has eaten the carpet off the stairs or when he chews my glasses. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, though. I’m driving him to Vancouver to meet with one of his siblings this summer. That’s the fun part about having a dog. You get to meet new people all the time, and we’re stopped a lot while we’re out because Max looks like a tiny husky puppy. Pomskies are a big commitment and are a lot of work, but it is worth it. I could have never imagined having this little buddy who means the whole world to me. He’s pushed me out of my comfort zone, especially if we’re hiking. I am afraid of heights, but he can sense when I’m nervous and stays by my side. Watching my kids

Choosing a New Puppy

Getting a new puppy can be an exhilarating feeling. It’s an adventure of a lifetime! It’s like gaining a new best friend! On the other hand, it can be stressful and feelings of “adopters remorse” can follow if you don’t put thought into your decision. There are some important things to consider before you choose which new pup to take home. We’ll cover some topics in this article that will provide guidance in finding the perfect puppy so that your next adventure will be one that you can cherish freely and forever! Adopt or Shop Whether you adopt or shop for your new puppy, remember that you are doing a great thing! You’re providing a home for a little one where they will be loved and taken care of forever. There is no wrong choice here. However, there are some major differences between shopping for and adopting your new puppy friend. With adoption comes a few pros and cons. Let’s start with the pros. Typically you will find that your puppy will be significantly cheaper than using a breeder. Sometimes adoption facilities will even waive their fees, making the adoption completely free. In addition, the puppies usually come microchipped to allow you to keep track of them if they were to run away or get lost. This is a cost you would have on your own if you purchased from a breeder. Overall, there are significant financial pros to adoption, but there are some cons as well. When you adopt, you typically forfeit any knowledge of their family origin and upbringing. This could affect your knowledge of potential health and behavioral problems in the future. In addition, a lot of adopted puppies are not breed guaranteed, meaning that your puppy could turn out to be a different mix or breed than you’re expecting. This is not inherently a bad thing, but if you’re someone looking for a very specific breed type for any reason, adopting may not be your best choice. Breed This is probably the most important decision when it comes to choosing a new puppy. Breed often determines behavior, size, socialization, appearance, and whether or not they are allergy-friendly. These are all crucial to consider based on your puppy, personal and environmental needs. There are various online sources where you can search for what kind of breed would be the best fit for you. Here’s a quiz you could take as an example. If you’re looking for a quick reference guide to a few breeds that may be a good fit for you then check out the comparison below. Gender After you’ve chosen the breed, you’ll want to decide whether you want a male or female puppy to bring home with you. There are some stereotypical assumptions about each, but it’s important to keep in mind that just like every human, every dog is different. However, we’ll still cover the typical differences between a male and a female puppy to provide some guidance. Males are typically larger in size and more aggressive than other males. They seek to show dominance through scent marking, mounting, and aggression when challenged by other dogs. In addition, they have a tendency to be more energetic and less well-behaved than females. However, neutering a male dog can help with marking and behavioral issues significantly and is typically highly recommended. Females are typically smaller, less aggressive, and more independent than males. Females are typically the chosen gender for new puppies because of these assumptions, but really it just depends on your needs as a new puppy owner. Although males are more aggressive with other male dogs, it’s been observed that females are also more aggressive with other female canines. Dogs in general typically get along better with the opposite sex. However, spaying your female puppy, just like neutering your male, is ideal as it will help with overall behavior improvement. Observe the Litter Lastly, when you go to pick out your new puppy, observe how they act and move around within their litter. You want to make sure that the puppy you choose isn’t outwardly aggressive with any of its littermates. Observing will help you determine possible behavioral tendencies later down the road. In addition, watch how the puppy walks and moves around. Of course, new puppies will stumble and be somewhat clumsy, but you want to make sure you don’t see any outstanding health issues or mobility issues that could cost you later. Conclusion Overall, choosing a new puppy is a blast. It’s a new and fun experience and you’re helping a great cause. You and your new puppy are going to be lathered in love by one another and it’s going to be so rewarding. Don’t worry if some stress follows you after the decision. It’s going to take some time to adjust and to learn how to care for your new friend, but there are plenty of resources to help ease the transition for you. There is no wrong decision here, only what’s best for you! Check out the following for information to help you in your journey to choosing a new puppy. Lexy, a German Shepard Story

On a sweltering summer afternoon, an unusual encounter occurred in a tiny Serbian village. It involved a girl and a dog. It was a call of destiny, one that changed many lives. This story is still spoken of in this village in the middle of nowhere. What was so special about this girl and this dog? Those two were not extraordinary, but they did some great together! Let me tell you all about it.  I – Mom! Mom! – What is it? Where is the fire? I am doing something, you know! -Look at it! A dog! I was going back from the river, and she was on the side of the road! She followed me back here! -Oh, boy! I don’t believe this! Why did you bring that dog over here? Look at it! It is sick! The last thing I need is to deal with a sick dog now that we are in the middle of the season! -But mom! This dog is not sick! She is just exhausted and hungry!  Now take her back to the river, and someone will come and pick her up! – Oh, great, you already know it is a she! I don’t want to hear about it! We do not need another dog! We already have a dog. – We don’t have a dog! We have Mimi! She is a sheep guard dog! She bit me, mom! – Well, Mimi sure has a temper! But that is beside the point! You know that you promised that you would help around on your summer break! There is a lot to do here, especially now. It is time for the harvest, the stables are complete, and your dad and I cannot do it ourselves, especially now, when your brother is not here to help! Ana, I do not want you to waste your time with this dog when there is so much to do around here! -That is the point! I am no different than Mimi to you! We are both a workforce for you! With that said, the girl ran off as fast as the wind, with her new four-legged friend following her. II Ana was walking hastily along the road, and the dog followed in her footsteps. Both of them felt miserable and didn’t need the words to communicate it. The dog was hungry, exhausted, and sleepy, but she followed her new best friend anyway. Ana was out of her mind! It is not easy being a teenager, but being a teenager in a small, God-forsaken village in the middle of nowhere is something else! There was not much to do here. There weren’t any fancy malls like the ones she watched on TV. There were no cafes and dressing up for the parties. There were few other girls in her village, all of whom were equally bored and apathetic as Ana. She felt like she was thrown into this tiny corner of the world, with no chance of escaping. So much fun going on all around the world, and she was missing it all! Even on summer breaks, when she could at least spend the days by the river swimming and fishing with other kids, she needed to help her parents with the crops and cattle! What a waste of life! With every thought, she quickened her steps, and the dog eventually couldn’t keep up! Anna looked behind and saw the dog sitting on the side of the road, with her tongue out.  -O, you poor girl! You are exhausted! I need to get you something to eat! I am so sorry! A car pulled over, and a tall, older man came out. -Hello, Ana! It is hot outside today! What do you have here? This is an excellent dog! Where did you get it? Was it a birthday gift from your folks? – Hello, Milos! You are just the person I need! I guess you know all about dogs. I need help with this one. I found her near the river, and she was like that, exhausted and dirty. I need to help her, but my mom won’t let me keep her. – You say you found her! O, dear! This is not just a regular dog that happens to wander along. It is a German Shepherd! And a pretty nice one! You know what they say about a German Shepherd: it is every dog’s dream to become a German Shepherd! Let me look at her! Mmmm. She is pretty young, maybe one year old. She is entirely developed, healthy, and cared for. Yes, she had better days, but I can tell she cared for properly. I need to tell you this: you cannot keep her. Someone is looking for her for sure.  -But what should we do? We cannot just leave her here.  – Let us all go to my infirmary. I have a chip reader there, and we can check if she is chipped. Also, I will put her photo on Facebook. Maybe someone will recognize her.  Milos, the vet, petted the dog softly as he put her in the back of his car. The dog didn’t resist, as she was too tired for it. Ana sat in front of her; that was all the reassurance the dog needed. But, the road did not take them to the vet’s office since there were many urgent problems right in front of them! III The car pulled off from the road. Milos and Ana rushed out, and the dog followed. In front of them was an unusual sight: wheat fields as far as the eye could see; the leaves fluttered in the wind while the colors of the setting sun shimmered on the surface. But, something was off in this sight. It took one look for Ana and Milos to figure it out. Hundreds of sheep were roaming through the field, crushing the precious grains representing their village’s entire wealth! Soon other villagers appeared. They were all trying to

It helps to reduce anxiety and soothe antsy pets. For it to be considered a calming bed, it must be able to render a degree of comfort and a sense of security. Here’s a tip on how to identify calming beds. They usually have raised edges or rims, orthopedic benefits, soft plush materials, donut-shaped, and offer warmth and comfort. If your dog shows signs of anxiety, such as; panting, shaking, burrowing, whining, drooling, and the inability to settle while at rest, you need to get it a calming bed. What are the types of calming dog beds? Orthopedic calming bed These calming beds are excellent for large breeds, older dogs, and sick/recovering dogs. Filling When choosing the best calming bed for your dog, the outside matters as much as the inside. Consider the fillings and stuffing used in making the bed. Is it made from memory foam or a more plush material? Ensure that the filling is made from high-quality material because this affects the support, comfort, durability, and washability. Support Calming beds are a great choice because of their support for your dog’s joints, neck, and head. Beds with orthopedic bases, memory foams, and bolstered edges provide the best support and offer

The friendly guinea pig

When we heard the word pet what comes to our mind is that they might be raising a dog or a cat since these are the most common pets that humans take care of. However, I am not a dog or a cat person. I have a pet called a guinea pig. I’m not sure if people are quite familiar with guinea pigs. In other countries, a lot of people may be having them as a pet; but in our case, I rarely see anyone in our neighborhood raising a guinea pig. I know all of the pets are cute but I consider guinea pigs the cutest among all the other pets I have.   his is Browny, a year-old round male nose guinea pig. Browny is quite relaxed and friendly. He loves to play around with our other pets. Raising a guinea pig is not new to me because when I was a kid, I had other guinea pigs too. Browny is the fifth guinea pig we bought. We started raising guinea pigs because my mother likes how low maintenance it is in having them as a pet. I decided to buy Browny because it reminds me of the childhood guinea pig I had. If only guinea pigs’ lifespan is just like a human lifespan, probably we didn’t reach our fifth guinea pig. Sadly, guinea pigs’ lifespan lasts for 4-8 years. That’s why we kept on buying guinea pigs the moment they were gone.  What I admire the most from Browny among all the guinea pigs we had is that he is very chill and obedient. Guinea pigs are social animals. Browny is super friendly toward our Pacman frog, gecko, and parrot. My favorite bonding with Browny is every time we gather all the other pets with him. I find it cute when these animals are interacting. It is pretty rare to see different types of animals interacting. You’re going to expect that they’ll have chaos all the time; however, it’s completely the opposite. Seeing them being clingy with each other is just precious to see. If only I have connections with the National Geo channel, I’ll proudly consult them and let this feature this moment haha.  Having Browny with us feels nice because our family is growing bigger and bigger. I felt really happy the first time I got Browny because another added member of the family; I know for some it is not something special since this is not our first guinea pig but for me, Browny is one of a kind. I haven’t seen someone as friendly as him. My other guinea pigs weren’t like that before. Those guinea pigs seem to have their own world but Browny? He treats other animals as a family.  Browny can be playful that sometimes I can’t have a decent photo with him. He kept on moving and that makes the photo blurry. Browny is the source of my happiness every time I’m bored or I am having a bad day. Seeing him being friendly with our other pets enlightened my mood in less than a minute.  The struggle of having a guinea pig is that it needs company. You can’t just leave them there. Your eyes must be on them because you might know what might happen since guinea pigs are quite small. I had an encounter before where I wasn’t paying attention and I wonder where my guinea pet went. It took five minutes for me to find it. From that experience, I learned to be more attentive every time I’m playing with a guinea pig. As I have mentioned earlier, raising a guinea pig is low maintenance. For Browny’s shelter, we provide an open space for him so he could move freely. For Browny’s food, we’re feeding him scramble and greens.   I know Browny is already a year old but there’s still the fear in me that he’ll be gone soon like my other guinea pigs. I’m so used to losing a pet but it doesn’t me I’m used to it; it is not painful anymore.  Losing someone will always be painful no matter how used you are to the pain. I always treasure every moment I shared with Browny. If there are times I’m busy, my sister is always there to play with him. Raising a guinea pig in our family would always have a special place in our hearts. I’m so used to having guinea pigs because I grow up taking good care of one. Probably in the future when I have a family on my own, I’ll surely adopt a guinea pig as our family pet. It is not expensive in taking care of them like the other pets. I can be probably called a loyal pet owner of guinea pigs. To think, Browny is already our fifth guinea pig. I don’t mind if I reach the 20th or more guinea pigs I’ll be taking care of. Cheers to more guinea pigs in the future! As a guinea pig pet owner since 2005, I’ll surely recommend other people to have their guinea pig. They deserve the love in this world.

Goat Life!

Wow! Who knew what I was getting into when I decided I “needed” a couple of goats to help with land clearing! Reached out to a friend who had goats on his land, and he suggested that I go to an auction and see what it’s like. We live in a rural area, so the closest auction was only 2 miles away! Sounds good right? Ha! Well, needless to say, I came home with two goats. They were both young, a male and a female. I had no idea what I was doing, and they came home in the back seat of the truck! I had no idea what breed they were or anything, I just saw goats and liked their colors so home they came! Once home with us, Poppy and Corey (that’s their names), became my main focus of the day. I had to read everything I could get my hands on, and boy was it a lot! I knew nothing, such as worming, vaccinations, sick goats, pregnant goats, and the list goes on. I am now a little bit better educated but nowhere near where I need to be. Also, I found out there is such a thing as goat math? What a phenomenon that is! So, if you decide you need 2 goats, you have to have two because they have to be at least in pairs, (another thing I learned). So, then you start thinking, well what if something happens to one and then I will only have one. Must get another one or I will be in trouble. The one I get is bred because I had no idea what I was doing, and she gave birth to 4 babies! Now I have 7! That is goat math! Ha Ha!  The goat adventures are ongoing daily, and the little herd is now growing, it has been an exciting time in my life as I have felled in love with the littles. More to come! Why Does My Dog Poop in the House

Dogs are amazing creatures. They’re great companions, joyous, and extremely loyal, hence their appeal. But of course, they’re not all perfect. Like your best friend, your dog can break your heart occasionally. Only this time, the experience smells pungent. Here’s what that means: your beloved pup may sometimes poop in the house. You can laugh about it if it’s once in a blue moon. But you may have a severe problem on your hands if it happens consistently, especially if your dog is housetrained. Why does your dog poop in the house, then? Let’s find out! Anxiety If your dog is experiencing separation anxiety or is afraid, it may poop in the house as a way of self-soothe and consoling itself. When under stress, dogs tend to have trouble holding their stool, leading even highly trained dogs to poop in the house. Luckily, you can spot separation anxiety. If your dog behaves nervously anytime you get ready to leave the house, they suffer from separation anxiety. It can be more severe if you spend extended times with your dog and now change your routine. Medical issue The poop problem may be medical as well. The most common medical issue that arises with house pooping is from intestinal parasites. If the problem truly is medical, there’s little your dog can do to prevent it, as your dog may find it difficult to control its stool. Intestinal parasites are a major medical problem that causes dog diarrhea. When this happens, you need to visit your vet immediately. Why? It’s usually a sign of a more significant health issue. Lack of proper house training Proper house training goes beyond getting your dog to eat from a particular bowl, sleep in a specific kennel, or poop in the right places a few times. Proper house training is more extended, especially if you’re dealing with a pup. You may have your dog pooping in the house if you don’t do that. After all, it takes time to etch a routine in anybody’s brain. You can train your dog with a poop schedule as they can adapt to them quickly. However, you must see the vet if you’ve housetrained your pup. Age As a dog ages, the muscles responsible for controlling its poop weaken. This means your dog cannot hold its poop long enough to go outside and poop. As a result, an old dog tends to poop in the house by mistake. Fear of going outside Your dog may fear going outside to poop, mainly if other animals attack it. Some dogs would even rather poop in the house than go outside for fear of certain sounds they hear. Diet change Did the poop problem begin after introducing your dog to a new food? If so, this may be the reason. An abrupt change in the diet leads to loose stool, which is hard for your dog to hold, making it poop accidentally in the house. Solutions to Your Dog Pooping in the House Now that we know the possible problems, how can you fix them? Seek medical attention – Visit your vet for checkups to ascertain if there are any medical problems. We even recommend visiting a behaviorist to help your dog overcome anxiety. Train your dog correctly – Train your dog thoroughly on how to use a potty. A routine takes longer to sink into your dog’s brain; hence, continue training it after it has pooped in the right place several times. Slowly introduce your dog to new foods – A sudden change of diet for your dog can cause medical issues that make it poop in your house. Introduce it to new foods gradually and see how it responds. Entertainment – Toys could help reduce your dog’s anxiety while you are away. Ask someone you trust to check on it or turn on your radio before leaving. This helps address anxiety problems, preventing your dog from pooping in your house. Introduce a schedule – Create a reliable timetable for your dog. This will help it hold its stool until it is pooping time. In addition, you can ask a friend to ensure you don’t interrupt the schedule when you are not home. Final Thoughts Your dog’s indoor pooping is undesirable. However, they may not have a say in it. Why? The problem may be medical. Even if it’s not, it may be from a rapid diet change, separation anxiety, or aging. You can address this trait by gradually introducing new foods, proper training, and health checkups. If you are unsure about the problem, visit a vet or behaviorist for help. Hopefully, you’ve understood why your dog poops in the house. Did we miss any reasons?
